Hydraulic hose assemblies
Custom assemblies matched to the application
Low, medium and ultra-high-pressure hydraulic hose assemblies manufactured with the hose, ends and fittings required for your equipment
Custom hydraulic hose assemblies for machinery and equipment
Hydraulic hose assemblies combine hydraulic hose with the appropriate hose tails, fittings and connection ends to suit the operating requirements of the equipment.
Integrated Hose & Fittings manufactures custom hydraulic hose assemblies from its Ridgehaven workshop for applications ranging from low-pressure return and suction lines through to ultra-high-pressure hydraulic systems.
The hose construction and assembly method depend on factors such as system pressure, hydraulic fluid, connection type and equipment application. IHF works across multiple hose and fitting configurations and can also source additional products where a particular application calls for something outside the main stocked range.

PRODUCT RANGE
Hydraulic hose assemblies across different pressure requirements
Not every hydraulic line requires the same hose construction. IHF works with different hose types according to the pressure, fluid and application involved.

Low-pressure R6 hose assemblies
R6 premium smooth-cover textile braided hose is used for return lines and low-pressure suction applications.
These assemblies can be used with petroleum-based hydraulic fluids, water-glycol and water-oil hydraulic fluids. We assemble R6 hose with low-pressure barbed hose tails and clamps for suitable applications.

Medium-pressure R16 hydraulic hose assemblies
For medium-pressure hydraulic systems, IHF uses compact R16 hydraulic hose with crimped hose tails.
R16 hose is suitable for applications using petroleum-based hydraulic fluids, synthetic esters, biodegradable hydraulic fluids, water-glycol-based fluids and air.
The compact construction provides an option for hydraulic machinery and equipment where a medium-pressure crimped hose assembly is required.

Ultra-high-pressure R15 hose assemblies
For ultra-high-pressure applications, we use R15 multi-spiral six-wire hydraulic hose.
This hose is designed for very high-pressure applications while providing greater flexibility than conventional spiral hose. It can be used with mineral and vegetable oils, water-based solutions, water, air and inert gases.
Assemblies are matched with crimped hose tails, including configurations such as rock breaker hose tails, Code 61, Code 62 and CAT flange connections.
FITTINGS & CONFIGURATIONS
Hose ends and fittings for different hydraulic systems
The hydraulic hose is only one part of the assembly. The connection at each end needs to suit the equipment, port and hydraulic system.
IHF stocks hose tails across a broad range of thread and connection types, including:
- JIC hose tails for common hydraulic connection applications.
- ORFS hose tails where an O-ring face seal connection is required.
- BSP hose tails for hydraulic systems using British Standard Pipe connections.
- NPT hose tails for applications using National Pipe Thread connections.
- Metric hose tails for machinery and equipment using metric hydraulic connections.
- SAE flange connections for compatible hydraulic systems.
- Banjo tails for applications requiring a banjo-style connection.
- Code 61 and Code 62 flanges for higher-pressure flange connection requirements.
Rock breaker and CAT flange configurations for relevant heavy equipment applications.
The existing hose and connection arrangement can be assessed when manufacturing a replacement, while new assemblies can be configured around the requirements of the equipment and application.
TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Matched hose and hose tails matter
A hydraulic hose assembly depends on more than choosing a hose with the required pressure capability. The hose, hose tail and crimp dimensions need to work as a matched system.
IHF works with a main supplier that tests complete hose systems using compatible hose and hose tails assembled to specified crimp dimensions. This provides a defined combination rather than selecting individual components without reference to how they perform together.
Using hose and hose tails that have been tested as a matched system also supports MDG41 guidelines for hydraulic hose assemblies.
IHF remains independent rather than being restricted to one product range, so other products can be sourced when a customer requests a particular hose, or an application requires an alternative.
OPTIONS
Specialist hydraulic hose options
Some hydraulic applications require more than a standard hose construction.
Through its supplier network, IHF has access to additional hydraulic hose variants including:
- High-temperature hose for applications where operating temperature affects hose selection.
- Half-bend-radius hose where routing and available space require a tighter bend.
- Tough-cover hose for applications where the hose is exposed to demanding external conditions.
- Jacking hose for hydraulic jacking applications.
Separate product ranges are also available for requirements better suited to thermoplastic or PTFE hose assemblies.
STANDARDS
Hydraulic hose standards and matched systems
The main Taipan hose range used by IHF meets or exceeds a number of Australian and international hose standards, including:
- ISO 6805
- SAE J517
- EN 853
- EN 856
- EN 857
Our supplier's hose products are also tested and certified through third-party organisations including Lloyd's, Mine Safety & Health Administration and Mines Australia.
For IHF customers, the important consideration is the complete assembly. Hose selection, compatible hose tails and the specified crimp dimensions all form part of producing a matched hydraulic hose system.
APPLICATIONS & INDUSTRIES
Hydraulic hose assemblies for different equipment and industries
Custom hydraulic hose assemblies are used across stationary machinery, mobile equipment, industrial operations and transport applications.
IHF supplies assemblies for customers working across:
Industrial and manufacturing
Production machinery can use hydraulic hoses ranging from two-wire through to six-wire assemblies. IHF works with manufacturing customers on replacement assemblies and larger machine requirements, including injection moulding equipment.
Earthmoving and construction
Excavators, demolition equipment, attachments and hire machinery regularly require replacement hydraulic hose assemblies following damage or wear.
Customers can bring the failed hose to the Ridgehaven trade counter or use IHF's onsite service across Adelaide metro.
Agriculture
Hydraulic assemblies are used across agricultural machinery and attachments including buckets, quick hitches and forks.
Transport and truck hydraulics
Applications include garbage loaders and compactors, truck and trailer tippers, cargo trailers and hydraulic floats.
MANUFACTURING
Hydraulic hose assembly manufacturing in Ridgehaven
Integrated hose & Fittings manufactures hydraulic hose assemblies at its Ridgehaven workshop north of Adelaide, where hydraulic hose, hose tails, adaptors and related products are held in stock.
For replacement work, customers can bring the damaged hose to the trade counter. The team assesses the existing hose; its application and the hose ends before selecting the components required for the replacement assembly.
Where a particular fitting or component is not held in the workshop, IHF can draw on its main supplier and broader supplier network.

WHY US
Why customers use IHF for hose assemblies
Hydraulic hose assembly work has been a core part of Integrated Hose & Fittings since the business was established more than 12 years ago.
The business combines more than 30 years of hydraulic hose industry experience with workshop manufacturing, product stock and direct access to the people doing the work.
For customers, that can mean dealing with the same team when identifying an unfamiliar hose end, replacing a failed assembly or working through a larger machine re-hosing requirement.
IHF also remains independent in its product sourcing, allowing the team to use its main matched hose system while accessing alternatives when the application requires them.

Frequently asked questions about hydraulic hose assemblies
What is a hydraulic hose assembly?
A hydraulic hose assembly combines hydraulic hose with the hose tails, fittings or connection ends required to connect it into a hydraulic system.
The hose construction and fittings need to suit the pressure, fluid and equipment application. We manufacture custom assemblies using different hose types and fitting configurations depending on those requirements.
What hydraulic hose assemblies does IHF manufacture?
IHF manufactures low-pressure R6 hose assemblies, medium-pressure R16 hydraulic hose assemblies and ultra-high-pressure R15 multi-spiral six-wire assemblies.
The business also has access to specialist hose options including high-temperature, half-bend-radius, tough-cover and jacking hose, with separate ranges available for thermoplastic and PTFE applications.
What fittings can be used on a custom hydraulic hose assembly?
Available hose tail and fitting configurations include JIC, ORFS, NPT, BSP, metric, SAE flange and banjo connections.
For ultra-high-pressure and heavy equipment applications, configurations can also include rock breaker hose tails, Code 61, Code 62 and CAT flange connections.
The fitting selection depends on the connection required by the machinery or hydraulic system.
Why are matched hose and hose tails important?
A matched hydraulic hose system uses hose and compatible hose tails that have been tested together using specified crimp dimensions.
IHF's main supplier tests complete matched systems rather than treating the hose and hose tails as unrelated components. This supports appropriate assembly and MDG41 guidelines.
Can I bring an existing hydraulic hose in for replacement?
Yes. You can remove the damaged hose and bring it to IHF's trade counter in Ridgehaven.
Our team will assess the hose, application and existing ends, then manufactures the replacement using available workshop stock. If an uncommon end or fitting is required, IHF can source additional products through its supplier network.
